About the comedians:
Alistair Barrie
A Comedy Store headliner, and hugely experienced corporate comedian Alistair Barrie is one of the top headliners on the international comedy circuit. He has performed in over 40 countries including acclaimed performances in Australia, Cape Town, Mumbai, New Zealand and the legendary Comedy Cellar in New York. He is a regular at London’s world-famous Comedy Store and a core member of their weekly topical ‘Cutting Edge’ team.
He has made countless appearances at UK music festivals including Glastonbury, Latitude, Bestival and Green Man and taken several solo shows to The Edinburgh Festival with his 2013 and 2015 shows nominated for ‘Best Show at The Fringe’ with the latter transferring to London for a run at The Soho Theatre. His latest show, 'The InternationAL' premiered at the 2018 Melbourne Festival and went on to Edinburgh where it received a highly coveted five star review from The Scotsman, before selling out its entire run at The 2019 New Zealand International Comedy Festival.
Alistair is a frequent panellist on BBC Scotland’s award-winning ‘Breaking the News’ and has appeared on radio and television all over the world, including 'Celebrity Deal or No Deal', ‘BBC Breakfast,’ 'Good Morning South Africa' and ‘The Blame Game’ in Northern Ireland. He has also written for the most of the major TV and radio networks and a number of other comedians.
John Newton
John began his comedy career in 2003, and fast became known for his inventive writing, covering a wide spectrum of subjects from the surreal to the hard hitting. He quickly progressed through comedy circuit, headlining at big clubs including The Glee, Up the Creek, Frog & Bucket, Jongleurs, and Komedia as well as being a regular act for touring companies.
Because of his heavily joke laden set, John also moved onto the Cruise ship circuit and is now a veteran playing as a comic performing regular nightly shows on over 100 cruises on ships for all of the major operators and working on Ships such as The Ventura, The Oceana, Arcadia & Ocean Village 1 & 2. He has also performed at Sensatori 5 star holiday resorts in Crete, Egypt, Turkey, Ibiza .
John has became a firm favourite of passengers, crew and holidaymakers alike, although he still sees himself as a true alternative comedian with an impressive turnaround of fresh original material.
John is a very strong and versatile act, can play to most audiences with probably the highest gag rate of any comic playing the UK circuit today.
Dana Alexander
Dana draws her material from raw life experience with an original and hilarious outlook. She began her comedy career at the age of 18 years old in Canada. Before long she began touring nationally with Yuk Yuk's Comedy Clubs, completed 5 television galas and several radio spots for major stations.
In 2011 Dana moved to the U.K. where she premiered her solo hour at The Edinburgh Festival for which she received rave reviews and nominations including "Best Comic" and "Best International Act" from Chortle and Black Comedy Awards.
It was not long before she then featured on British television on programmes such as "Russell Howard's Good News", "Edinburgh Comedy Fest" and "The Culture Show".
Her solo comedy special also aired in Canada's popular Stand-up show "Comedy Now" and she has been named in the Top 10 Comedians 3 years running by NOW Magazine in Canada.
Dana can be seen on stage within in the U.K. and Internationally. She has performed in more than 40 countries such as Bahrain, Dubai, Switzerland, Croatia, France, The Netherlands, Norway, Serbia, The Seychelles, Hungary, Malta and South Africa.
Ollie Horn
Ollie Horn is a very good comedian who excludes a nice-guy charm. A gregarious and genial storyteller full of tales that exploit embarrassing incidents, in which he usually comes off as the idiot. He is originally from Bristol, but without the accent because it got bullied out of him at posh school, where he got his first taste of stand-up - and he then ended up as a TV presenter and actor in Japan for four years failing spectacularly at using the law degree he earned in the UK.
As well as being a regular at the Edinburgh, Perth, Adelaide and Melbourne comedy festivals he’s toured the world as a headline act, performing at some of the top clubs in the USA, Asia and Europe with his high-energy and engaging observational comedy. He cut his comedy teeth not on the UK comedy circuit, but in English and Japanese language clubs in Japan, and the English speaking comedy circuit across Asia.
